It takes a village to make all these great things happen! Email BrentwoodPTAinfo@gmail.com if you are interested in participating in a committee.
Audit Committee
Examines the financial books and records of the financial officers of the PTA. Every month reconciles bank statements. Check and balances the Treasurer’s work. None of the check signers can be part of this committee. It serves to certify that the receipts and expenditures, as authorized in the minutes, are in conformity with the Bylaws, the Standing Rules, and the Budget.
Advocacy/Community Outreach Committee / Programs Committee
Members of this committee represent the school and community. Develop a community outreach plan and set goals. Develop activities that include and would be of interest to students, single parent families, working parents, grandparents, senior citizens, and people with disabilities, non-English speaking people and community business people. Address ways to strengthen home-school-community partnerships. Compile and share information about community agencies that provide services to families. Arranges and coordinates necessary programs for the school. Meet with the school Principal to determine the main problems/issues the kids are facing.
Book Fair Committee
This committee will help organize and run the Scholastic Book Fair, one of our favorite fundraisers of the year. It takes a lot of volunteers to set up and run the Book Fair.
Carnival/Spring Fling Committee
The purpose of the Carnival Committee is to plan our fun day! We will be seeking out vendors, donors, and ideas for games and fun things for this community-wide fun day
Fundraising Committee
The major responsibility of the fundraising committee is to raise the amount needed to meet the proposed unit budget and to work cooperatively with the PTA president and treasurer in accounting for receipts and disbursements for the activity. The committee may also plan specific fundraising events and activities.
Hospitality / Appreciation Committee
The purpose of the Hospitality Committee is to provide hospitality (food, beverages, decorations, gifts) for certain school/PTA events and to show our appreciation to the outstanding teachers and staff at Brentwood. This committee plans and organizes ways to show appreciation to the faculty and staff throughout the year.
Nominating/Volunteer Coordinator Committee
The nominating committee's major role and responsibility is to nominate the best qualified, available nominee(s) for each elected office. Meet with the principal and PTA president to review school and district policies and procedures regarding volunteers. Assess the need for volunteers at your school. Recruit from all segments of the community. Publicize volunteer opportunities.
